Privacy Policy
The Golden Settle is a shopping research publication. We collect as little as we can, we are plain about what we do collect, and we never sell your data. This page explains all of it in normal language.
In this policy, "we" and "The Golden Settle" mean Radiant Solutions, the business that owns and operates this site. If you have a question about anything here, email us at hello@thegoldensettle.com.
What we collect
There are two ways we end up with information about you.
Things you give us. If you join The Sunday Settle newsletter, we store the email address you enter. If you send us a message through the contact form, we receive your name, your email, and what you wrote. That is the entire list, and you choose whether to give us any of it.
Things collected automatically. Like almost every website, our analytics tools record basic, mostly anonymous information when you visit, such as the pages you view, the rough region you are in, the type of device and browser you use, and the site that sent you here. We use this to understand which articles actually help people.
How we use analytics
We rely on a small set of analytics tools, and we want to name them plainly.
- Cloudflare Web Analytics. A privacy-first tool that measures traffic without setting any cookies and without tracking you across other sites.
- Google Analytics. Helps us understand how people move through the site. It sets cookies and processes usage data under Google's own privacy terms.
- Microsoft Clarity. Shows us anonymized heatmaps and session recordings of how visitors interact with a page, so we can fix confusing layouts. Clarity masks text input by default. We use it to improve the site, never to identify you.
All three tools run when you visit the site. The first time you arrive, a small notice at the bottom of the screen lets you know we use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, and it goes away for good once you click Okay. Cloudflare's cookieless analytics runs the same way because it does not track you.
Cookies and your choices
A cookie is a small file a site stores in your browser. We keep ours to a minimum and group them simply.
- Analytics cookies. Set by Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity when you visit. If you would rather not have them, you can block or clear cookies in your browser settings, and the rest of the site works exactly the same.
- Affiliate cookies. When you click a link to a retailer, the affiliate network may set a cookie so the retailer knows we referred you. That cookie belongs to the network, not to us, and their privacy terms govern it. There is more in our affiliate disclosure.
You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time, and you can use your browser's private or incognito mode if you prefer not to be measured at all.
Email and the newsletter
We use Brevo to store newsletter subscribers and to send The Sunday Settle. If you sign up, Brevo processes your email address on our behalf. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link, and leaving is instant. We do not share your address with anyone else.
Who we share data with
We do not sell your personal information, and we never will. We do rely on a few trusted service providers who process data only to make the site work: Cloudflare for hosting and analytics, Google and Microsoft for analytics, Brevo for email, and the affiliate networks whose links appear in our articles. Each operates under its own privacy terms.
How long we keep it
We keep newsletter emails until you unsubscribe. We keep contact messages as long as we need them to answer you and for our records. Analytics data is retained according to each tool's standard settings.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, and you can ask us to stop emailing you. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have these rights under the GDPR. If you are in California, you have similar rights under the CCPA, including the right to know and the right to deletion, and we confirm again that we do not sell your data. To exercise any of these, email hello@thegoldensettle.com and we will respond.
Do Not Track
Some browsers can send a Do Not Track signal. There is no shared standard for how sites should answer it, so we do not respond to it specifically. If you would rather not be measured, your browser's cookie controls and private browsing mode give you a clear and reliable way to opt out.
Children
This site is meant for adults, and it is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.
Visitors outside your country
The Golden Settle is run for a United States audience, and our service providers may process data in the United States and elsewhere. By using the site, you understand your information may be handled in a country with different data protection laws than your own.
Changes to this policy
When we change how we handle data, we update this page and change the date at the top. For meaningful changes we will make the update easy to notice.
Contact
Questions about your data, or want a copy or a deletion? Email hello@thegoldensettle.com or use our contact page, and we will get back to you.
